Christianity vs Nominal Christianity: People Need to Know the Difference

  


Over the years Christianity has gotten a lot of bad publicity because of the actions of people who claim to be Christians but are not—they are only nominal Christians. As a result many in the world want nothing to do with Christianity and thus reject their only hope of salvation and being able to be forgiven of their sins and one day being able to enter into heaven. 

Let’s discuss this. First off what is a nominal Christian? 

Definition: a Christian nominalist is one who claims the name Christian, but who has no authentic, personal, sin-forgiving and life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. His allegiance to Jesus is in name, not heart. 

By this definition the vast majority of those who call themselves Christians in the world today are nominal Christians—they have no authentic, personal, sin-forgiving and life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. I would estimate it to be 90% or more of all who claim to be Christians are just nominal Christians. 

They sometimes go to church, pray, give a little money but inside they are basically just like everybody else in the world. If you examined their life, you could not see anything different about them than the average person in the world. I know many nominal Christians—they drink, smoke, cuss, gamble, cheat, etc. They are no different than anybody else. 

I know by personal experience what a nominal Christian is, I grew up a nominal Christian, it was not until I was twenty years old that I was exposed to the true gospel and received the Lord Jesus Christ into my life and entered into a life-changing relationship with Him. 

Over the years it is the nominal Christians that have given Christianity a bad name. One action of nominal Christians that I have heard people bring up over the years is the Crusades.


 

The Crusades were a series of religious wars between Christians and Muslims started primarily to secure control of holy sites considered sacred by both groups. In all, eight major Crusade expeditions—varying in size, strength and degree of success—occurred between 1096 and 1291. 

…the Crusaders were regarded as immoral, bloody and savage. The ruthless and widespread massacre of Muslims, Jews and other non-Christians resulted in bitter resentment that persisted for many years. 

Deaths from the Crusades have been estimated from 1 to 9 million. This was an absolutely horrible occurrence that has blighted Christianity for centuries even to this day. This should have never happened; true born-again Christians would not have done this. These were the actions of nominal Christians—fake Christians—controlled by satan.

And unfortunately, it is events like these that have given Christianity a bad name over the years. Which satan has used to deceive and drive people away from true Christianity and a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. 

I implore all who are reading this to not be deceived by the actions of nominal—fake—Christians. Look to the Lord Jesus Christ—the true God and creator of the world—for your salvation. 

And what does God tell us about salvation? There are 4 things we must know and accept to be able to go to heaven when we die.


1. We are sinners.



As the Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). 

Sin is falling short of God’s perfection. Everyone has sinned many times in life. We have all lied, or stolen, or cheated, or done something wrong at some time in our lives. 

As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10). 

We are all sinners.


2. We deserve Hell.




Realize that there is a punishment for being a sinner, and that punishment is death. “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). 

Not only a physical death, but also a spiritual death. The place of spiritual death is called Hell. 

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8).

There is probably no person alive who can say that they never told a lie. We have all sinned and we all deserve the punishment of Hell for our sin.


3.  Jesus loves us and died for our sins.


But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). 

Jesus willingly went to the cross, shed His blood, and died for our sins. He paid the price for our sins. He suffered the punishment that we deserve. When He was on the cross, Jesus suffered Hell for us. Hell is a place of total separation from God. When Jesus was on the cross, God the Father separated Himself from God the Son. That is why Jesus cried out “with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Jesus was experiencing separation from God the Father. He was suffering the Hell that we deserve. He was paying for our sins.


4.  We must receive Christ by faith through prayer.



In order to receive the forgiveness of our sins, it is not enough to know that we are sinners, that we deserve Hell, and that Christ died for our sins, but we must receive Christ by faith.

 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8,9). 

Notice that verse tells us that we cannot earn our way to heaven. We obtain salvation through faith, not by works. Faith basically means to place your trust in something or someone. If you are sitting down while reading this, you are placing your faith or trust in the chair that you are sitting upon. Faith requires more than just an intellectual belief; it involves an action of your will. 

For example, if there were a pond covered with ice, and there were people standing around saying that the ice could hold them up, but they were not willing to walk on the ice, then they would only be demonstrating an intellectual belief and not demonstrating faith. However, if they stepped out onto the ice, then they would be demonstrating faith.

 

Placing our faith in Christ




One can place their faith in Jesus Christ by simply calling out to Him in prayer, for the Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” I expressed faith in Jesus Christ by sincerely praying a prayer like this:

 

Dear Jesus, I am a sinner. I deserve Hell. Thank you for dying for my sins. Save me. Come into my life. Make me the kind of person that you want me to be. I thank you that you have and that you will take me to heaven when I die. Amen.”

 

If you sincerely pray that prayer to God with all your heart, then the Lord Jesus will come into your life and forgive your sins and save you from an eternity of Hell. And if you were to die tomorrow, you would go to heaven. Not because you are good enough to get there, but because you have received the payment of your sins. It is that simple as the following verses tell us. 

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (1 John 5:11-13) 

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)

Jesus loves you and wants to save you, call out to the Lord and be saved today.

The Idols are Crumbling



Definition: Idol

I'DOL, n. L. idolum; Gr. form or to see. 

1. An image, form or representation, usually of a man or other animal, consecrated as an object of worship; a pagan deity. Idols are usually statues or images, carved out of wood or stone, or formed of metals, particularly silver or gold. 

The gods of the nations are idols. Ps.96. 

2. An image. 

Nor ever idol seemed so much alive. 

3. A person loved and honored to adoration. The prince was the idol of the people. 

4. Any thing on which we set our affections; that to which we indulge an excessive and sinful attachment. 

Little children, keep yourselves from idols. 1 John.5. 

An idol is any thing which usurps the place of God in the hearts of his rational creatures. 

We all know what an idol is, those non living statues that people worship—highly irrational. But let’s not focus on that definition of idol, let’s focus on the last definition—“an idol is any thing which usurps the place of God in the hearts of his rational creatures.” 

So what are the world’s idols, what are the things that have usurped the place of God in the hearts of people around the world and America? Let me name a few. 

Sports

Entertainment

Leisure

Money

Relationships

Food 

I see it all the time people have no time for God but they have time for all those things. One time I remember a Christian school was having a garage sale on a Saturday morning to raise money for a senior class trip and there was a line that stretched through the parking lot waiting for the doors to open at 7 AM. The next day there was no line waiting to get into Church. People will wait in line to buy other people’s junk before 7 AM but can’t even get their buts out of bed to make it to church by 11 AM. Something is wrong. 

I cannot spend time with God today, I cannot go to church today, I cannot pray today, I cannot read my bible today because I have to do __________ today.  Remember; “an idol is any thing which usurps the place of God in the hearts of his rational creatures.” 

So America and the world have usurped the place of God in their hearts with all kinds of other activities such as sports, entertainment, leisure, money, relationships, food, etc. (Note: those things are not wrong in and of themselves, but when they usurp the place of God they become an idol.) 

And what has been affected the most by the COVID-19 shutdown? Sports, Entertainment, Leisure, money, relationships, food; all of which many in the world have partaken in and has usurped the rightful place of God. 

It is clearly evident that America and the world have set up their modern idols which have usurped the place of God. And what does God say about idols? 

Thus saith the Lord God; I will also destroy the idols, Ez 30:13 

And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them. Ps 106:36 

And the idols he shall utterly abolish. Is 2:18 

Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, Ez 14:4 

Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols. EZ 20:16 

I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols. EZ 23:30 

Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it: EZ 36:18 

I am sure you get the idea. The idols of America and the world are being destroyed. The nations of the world have turned their backs on God and pursued their idols. Now God is allowing those idols to be taken away—their idols are crumbling. 

Will the world realize the error of their ways fall on their knees ask forgiveness of God and return to Him, or will the world fail to heed the warning and continue in their evil ways? 

I know the answer to that question, it is revealed in Revelation; And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, Rev 9:20 

That is right, unfortunately the world as a whole will not repent and as a result the judgments will continue to get worse and worse. What we have been experiencing so far is just a warm up—more severe judgments are coming. But the good news is that some will repent, some will realize they have sinned against a holy God, and as a sinner they will realize that they deserve the punishment of eternal death in hell. 

And they will recognize that Jesus died for their sins and that all their sins can be forgiven through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. And they will call out to Him to be saved, and He will save them, they will become his child and receive a home in heaven.

Eternal Security

When someone becomes a Christian a permanent change takes place, they are translated from the kingdom of the devil to the kingdom of God.
 
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:  Col 1:13
 
When one becomes a Christian they become a child of God and are born again and receive the Holy Spirit as a down payment or earnest of their heavenly future.
 
Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.  2 Cor 1:22
 
who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.  2 Cor 5:5
 
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Eph 1:13,14
 
 
Once someone is truly saved they are always saved, they are sealed unto the day of redemption.  They cannot lose their salvation.
 
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39.  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 8:38,39
 
Salvation involves an irreversible change; once someone is born again they cannot be unborn.  Salvation is an eternal change that cannot be reversed; we cannot be saved and then lost.  Jesus will not allow any of His sheep to perish or be stolen.
 
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28.  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29.  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. Jn 10:27-29
 
Mr. Coombes in his book America The Babylon expounds upon Ephesians 2:8,9 and shows from that verse how the Greek indicates that those who are truly saved cannot lose their salvation.
 
Your reliance on the facts of God’s actions on your behalf as a gift to you is what activates the relationship and gets your account credited as paid in full.  Now, what God did for each of us in the past was an action that had eternal results.  So that when we activate God’s gift to us, it pays for all the past errors, all the ones occurring at the moment you accepted the terms in your mind, plus it also pays for all the future errors you will commit, because, God’s gift includes a future state of perfection, and until that occurs our gift covers everything we do.  We know this because in the New Testament book/letter to the Ephesian church, God through the Apostle Paul tells us …[Ephesians 2:8,9] 
 
“For by a gift, are you saved (“forever being continually saved” in both the past, present and future tense.  The verb, ‘saved’ is a perfect tense verb which means an action with results reaching into the past, affecting the present and the future also).
 
So, let’s restart that verse again. “For by a gift are you forever being continually saved, (from the past sins all way through all of your future sins) on the basis of reliance upon God’s actions, and not of your own actions. It is a gift of God; not of anything you’ve earned, otherwise man could boast…[and the boasting would nullify everything anyway] 
 
Now to be honest with you, the above rendering is a paraphrase of the original Greek language of verse 8, and 9. It conveys however the full in-tent of the original words, including the verb tensing. This verse means you and I can do NOTHING to earn favor with God, but that God’s gift cannot be earned. There are two large and heavy books that deal with this issue…Romans and Galatians. Also, the book of Hebrews deals with how reliance…(also known as ‘faith’) is all that ‘saves’ us.
 
God’s gift is a once and for all action, the verb tensing proves it! The apostle Paul and Peter also go to great lengths to affirm that the gift cannot be earned, and we can do nothing to lose it…IF we indeed are relying upon the sole actions of God and not of ourselves. Coombes,  p.154,5.
 
So I believe that the scriptures are clear that once saved you are always saved.  If you are truly born again you cannot get unborn.

An Open Letter to President Trump: Making America Great Again

 
Dear President Trump
 
I applaud you for your stated commitment to make America great again. As you know the problems in America are many and complex. However the solution to our many problems is actually very simple and is succinctly stated by God.
 
Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Prov 14:34
 
As clearly stated by God, in order for our country to become great again, we need to return to “righteousness.” And how can our country do this? A righteous country is first achieved by individuals becoming righteous. Individual righteousness starts with each person, including myself and you Sir, admitting that they have sinned against a holy God.
 
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom 3:23
 
One must also realize that there is a penalty for being a sinner.
 
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom 6:23
 
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Rev 21:8
 
As clearly stated the penalty for being a sinner is the lake of fire—hell. But God loves us and does not want us to go to hell and suffer forever in the lake of fire. So God sent His Son the Lord Jesus Christ to die on the cross and shed his blood so that our sins could be paid for. And it is through His payment that we can be freed from hell and obtain eternal life.
 
It is not enough to know these facts, each person has a choice as to whether to accept or reject the payment that Jesus has made for their sins. And how does one accept the free gift of salvation that Jesus offers to the entire world?
 
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 2:8,9
 
We are saved by faith. We must make a decision to place our faith in Christ by admitting we are a sinner, that we deserve hell for our sins, and that Jesus is God and that He died for our sins. We must then call out to the Lord in prayer and ask him to save us and believe that He will. I prayed a prayer like this.
 
Dear Lord Jesus
 
I am a sinner, I deserve hell. Thank you for dying for my sins on the cross. Come into my life, save me. I thank you that you have. Amen
 
When someone places their faith in Christ, Jesus comes into their life, saves them from their sins and they are born again into God’s family and will obtain eternal life.
 
This is the first step to individual righteousness and national righteousness, and thus making America great again. And you President Sir, as the leader of this great land, if you have not already, must take this step of faith to bring about your stated goals.
 
Furthermore in order for a country to obtain righteousness and greatness, not only must that country have inward righteousness, but it must also have outward righteousness and eradicate any and all sins against God and humanity that it is engaging in. The sins of America are many, the first and foremost of which is the killing of many innocent children who are snubbed out before they can see the light of day.
 
I know that you may not be able to make it illegal to kill the unborn, but you can make it difficult. Just as you are making it difficult for companies to leave our country, and terrorists to enter, I call on you Sir to make it very difficult for people to kill the unborn.
 
If America does not eradicate this sin it has no chance of becoming great again, and in fact has suffered judgments for this sin and will continue to suffer—this grievous sin must be stopped ASAP.
 
After dealing with this major national sin other issues such as returning our country to constitutional money, stopping the chemtrails, eradicating the liberal hedonistic indoctrination in our schools, stopping the flow of raw sewage coming out of the cesspool of Hollywood that is poisoning our children, etc., must also be stopped.
 
Remember God’s Word is true; righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people, and you Sir, with God’s help in returning our land to righteousness can make America great again.

The Declaration of Repentance



Two centuries, one score, and 17 years ago the United States declared its independence from the political servitude of its mother country, England. I declare that America is once again in servitude, but this time to satan and his vices. For this, America, judgment is coming upon our land!

America we must repent! The stench of our sins has reached unto heaven. We have crossed many “red lines;” The killing of the innocents, the destruction of the traditional family, the mistreatment of Israel, the blatant witchcraft, the sexual perversions, the raw sewage flowing out of the cesspool of Hollywood, on and on the list goes. America we are in bondage to sin and deserve judgment! We are shaking our fist in God’s face and we have experienced God’s judgments, will continue to receive judgments, and they will get worse, lest we repent.

What are some of the judgments that I and others foresee will befall America in the near future, lest we repent? Riots, collapse of the dollar, fires, droughts, floods, food shortages, severe earthquakes, more severe “natural” disasters, cosmic catastrophes, tsunamis, terrorist actions, pandemics, and nuclear attacks.

Is this what you want America? It is not what I and many others in this land want, we do not want to see people suffer and die. It is not too late, I believe these judgments can be turned away from us, if we repent. With this purpose in mind I am putting forth a Declaration of Repentance, which is based on several scripture passages and some of the phrases in the Declaration of Independence. Join with me in praying this Declaration of Repentance for America.

The Declaration of Repentance

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for a country to pray unto the Lord our God, and make our confession, we say, “O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love Him, and to them that keep His commandments; We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from Thy precepts and from Thy judgments:  Neither have we hearkened unto Thy servants, which spake in Thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto Thee, but unto us, the people of America, shame, because of our trespass that we have trespassed against Thee. O Lord, to us belongeth shame, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against Thee.

Neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us in His Holy Word. Yea, all America have transgressed Thy law, even by departing from Thee, that we have not obeyed Thy voice; therefore the curse is and will continue to be poured upon us, because we have sinned against Him.

And He hath confirmed his words, which He spake against us, and many evils have come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand Thy truth. To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against Him; Therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all His works which He doeth: for we obeyed not His voice; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.

O Lord, according to all Thy righteousness, I beseech Thee, let Thine anger and Thy fury be turned away from America, because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers. Do not remember the iniquities of our forefathers against us; Let Your compassion come quickly to meet us, For we are brought very low.

Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name; And deliver us and forgive our sins for Your name’s sake. Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of Thy servant, and his supplications, and cause Thy face to shine upon this land and bring a great revival for Thy glory and for Thy great mercies. O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for Thine own sake, O my God, Amen.”

We, therefore, the people of the united States of America, by this prayer, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, solemnly publish and declare, that America is guilty of sin, and hereby repent, and for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor to obey and follow the commandments of the Lord.

And by this prayer may many repent of their sins in America, and may we dissolve the bands of spiritual bondage upon this land, which have destroyed many, and that many may have the opportunity to pursue Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness; unalienable rights endowed by our Creator—the Lord Jesus Christ—for He has come that we might have life and have it abundantly.

I hope you become a “signer” of this Declaration of Repentance for America by earnestly praying the Declaration to the Lord.

Have you declared your repentance to the Lord for your own sins and entered into a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus; are you experiencing the abundant life Jesus promised? If you would like to enter into a relationship with the Lord Jesus, you must realize that;

That is why Jesus cried out “with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Jesus was experiencing separation from God the Father. He was suffering the Hell that we deserve. He was paying for our sins.

4. We must receive Christ by faith. In order to become a Christian, it is not enough to know that we are sinners, that we deserve Hell, and that Christ died for our sins, but we must receive Christ by faith. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Eph 2:8,9).

Notice that we cannot earn our way to heaven. We obtain salvation through faith, not by works. Faith basically boils down to placing your trust in something or someone. If you are sitting down while reading this, you are placing your faith or trust in the chair that you are sitting upon. Faith requires more than just an intellectual belief; it involves an action of your will. For example, if there were a pond covered with ice, and there were people standing around saying that the ice could hold them up, but they were not willing to walk on the ice, then they would only be demonstrating an intellectual belief and not faith. If they stepped out onto the ice, they would be demonstrating faith.

One can place their faith in Christ by simply calling out to Him in prayer, for the Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” I expressed faith in Christ by sincerely praying a prayer like this:

Dear Jesus, I am a sinner. I deserve Hell. Thank you for dying for my sins. Save me. Come into my life. Make me the kind of person that you want me to be. I thank you that you have and that you will take me to heaven when I die. Amen.”

If you sincerely pray that prayer with all your heart, then the Lord Jesus will come into your life and forgive your sins, and save you from an eternity of Hell. If you were to die tomorrow, you would go to heaven. Not because you are good enough to get there, but because you have received the payment of your sins. It is that simple. This is where repentance starts—by receiving the Love of God.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (Jn 5:24)

Know Fear -- No Fear

When the world enters into the end times it will be one of the most tumultuous periods in its existence. The sorrows and tribulations that will be coming upon the world in that time are going to be intense. I must admit that thinking about the future has brought fear into my heart and may have brought fear into yours. Some do not even want to talk about the end times because it frightens them too much.

I know this; God does not want you to be afraid and God does want you to know the truth about the end times--for "the truth will set you free."

So how can we not be afraid? The answer; by fearing God.

For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying, 12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. 13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. 14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; Isaiah 8:11-14

If we fear God by acknowledging who He is, the infinitely powerful creator who holds us accountable for our sins, and call out to Him to be saved we become one of His children. Just as parents have a desire protect their children, God will protect His in an infinitely greater way.

So the fear of the Lord brings protection and with protection comes the removal of fear. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: Prov 1:7a and that knowledge will vanquish fear.

What will God specifically do for His children? Job 5 gives a good summary: Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: 18 For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole. 19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. 20 In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword. 21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh. 22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth. 23 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee. 24 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin. 25 Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth. 26 Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season. 27 Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.

If we fear the Lord and are saved and become His child He will protect us and He will only allow times of tribulation and anguish to come upon us if it is for our good. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Rom 8:28. Problems can also come upon us for chastisement because of our disobedience. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 1Cor 11:30.

To sum it all up: Knowing fear leads to no fear. Let us rest securely in our Father's hands.

One Way

In The God Proof I logically proved the existence of a beginning force that has revealed Himself to us as God and has given us a book, The Bible, to let us know what He requires of us. Many claim that there are many ways to reach God. Dr. Savage is one such famous advocate of that theory. I have heard him say that religions are like spokes in a wheel and they all lead to God at the hub. Even though this might sound nice it is absolutely wrong.

How do we know? First let's consider the magnitude of the situation. God is infinite, we are finite. How can a finite being determine how to reach an infinite being. For us finite humans to think that we can come to an infinite being on our own terms is pure arrogancy. It would be like an ant trying to tell us how they are going to relate to us. So for a human to think that they can come to God any way that they see fit is illogical and is the ultimate expression of pride and arrogancy.

So what is the way to God? The way to God is the way that He told us. He came to earth and told us how to reach Him and He recorded it for us in a book. The Lord Jesus Christ came to earth and proved He was God by His death, burial, and resurrection. He also told us how to reach God. He said "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (Jn 14:6) It does not get any simpler than that, if you want to come to God you must go through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. All other ways are merely human inventions or satanic deceptions. A finite being must come to an infinite being on His terms.

God's Gift of Salvation


We are all going to die someday and the big question is; what happens next? God tells us in His Word that we have an eternal soul that will live forever. God also tells us in His Word how we can know for sure, 100%, that when we die we will go to heaven. There are 4 things we must know and accept to be able to go to heaven when we die.


1. We are sinners.



As the Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). 

Sin is falling short of God’s perfection. Everyone has sinned many times in life. We have all lied, or stolen, or cheated, or done something wrong at some time in our lives. 

As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10). 

We are all sinners.


2. We deserve Hell.




Realize that there is a punishment for being a sinner, and that punishment is death. “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). 

Not only a physical death, but also a spiritual death. The place of spiritual death is called Hell. 

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8).

There is probably no person alive who can say that they never told a lie. We have all sinned and we all deserve the punishment of Hell for our sin.


3.  Jesus loves us and died for our sins.


But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). 

Jesus willingly went to the cross, shed His blood, and died for our sins. He paid the price for our sins. He suffered the punishment that we deserve. When He was on the cross, Jesus suffered Hell for us. Hell is a place of total separation from God. When Jesus was on the cross, God the Father separated Himself from God the Son. That is why Jesus cried out “with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

4.  We must receive Christ by faith through prayer.



In order to receive the forgiveness of our sins, it is not enough to know that we are sinners, that we deserve Hell, and that Christ died for our sins, but we must receive Christ by faith.

Placing our faith in Christ

Dear Jesus, I am a sinner. I deserve Hell. Thank you for dying for my sins. Save me. Come into my life. Make me the kind of person that you want me to be. I thank you that you have and that you will take me to heaven when I die. Amen.”

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (1 John 5:11-13)

Jesus loves you and wants to save you, call out to the Lord and be saved today.
