Will the rapture be accompanied by darkness? That is an interesting question that bears considering. I was sent this video the other day, (HT Karen) it details several dreams about the rapture that also includes accounts of darkness accompanying the rapture.
So, what do we make of this, will the rapture be accompanied by darkness? I answering this question we must remember that dreams must be evaluated in light of scripture—God’s Word is supreme.
Does scripture say that the rapture will be accompanied by darkness? YES absolutely! Consider how this passage lines up with what people saw in their dreams.
12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? Rev 6:12-17
Sixth seal opened—darkness—Jesus is seen in the sky—God’s wrath begins. There are only 2 times when Jesus is seen during the last 7 years, at the rapture and at Armageddon. The sixth seal is not Armageddon, thus it must be the rapture.
There are other scriptures that associate darkness with the rapture/the Day of the Lord.
1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 1 Thes 5:1-6
What event comes as a thief in the night? The rapture—that passage is all about the rapture, and they call it the Day of the Lord. And where is the darkness?
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come: Acts 2:20
There it is darkness and then the Day of the Lord/the rapture.
It kind of amazes me that all of those people can have those dreams that associate the rapture with darkness and then fail to search the scriptures to see when in the end times does the darkness occur. The scriptures clearly show that the darkness and the rapture do not occur until after seal 6 has been opened. And these dreams confirm this fact and repudiate the pre-trib rapture theory.
Seal 6 opened—sun darkened—rapture and these dreams are a confirmation of this fact.
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke 21:36
