Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel Prophecy

I ran across an interesting prophecy that I will be adding to my book. The prophecy, as you will see dovetails perfectly with the hypthesis that I present in Chapter 12 of The Coming Epiphany;

Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel Prophecy The following is the write up of a prophecy made by Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel that I believe is significant in regards to answering the question when, and may point to a possible year of the Second Coming. The original article appeared in Israel Today, March 2008[6]

In 1217 the Jewish Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel prophesied that the Ottoman Turks would rule over the holy city of Jerusalem for eight Jubilees. A Jubilee is a period of 50 years according to Leviticus 25:8-13. Eight Jubilees would then be 400 years. Sure enough, 300 years later in 1517 the Ottoman Turks seized control of the city of Jerusalem and ruled over it for the next 400 years. They were finally driven out of the city and the holy land in 1917 by the Allied forces under the command of General George Allenby. The Rabbi's prophecy about the 400 years was fulfilled exactly to the year.

The Rabbi had also prophesied that during the ninth Jubilee Jerusalem would be a "no-man's land." This is exactly what happened from 1917 to 1967, due to the fact that the holy land was placed under British Mandate in 1917 by the League of Nations and literally "belonged" to no nation. Even after Israel's war of independence in 1948-49 Jerusalem was still divided by a strip of land running right through the heart of the city, with Jordan controlling the eastern part of the city and Israel controlling the western part of the city. That strip of land was considered and even called "no-man's land" by both the Israelis and the Jordanians. Anyone even stepping into that strip would be shot down. I lived during that period of time and well remember the reports in the newspapers and shown on TV about the division of Jerusalem. It was not until the Six Day War in 1967 when the entire west bank of the holy land was conquered by the Israeli army that the whole city of Jerusalem passed back into the possession of Israel. So once again the prophecy made by the Rabbi 750 years previously was fulfilled to the letter.

But that is still not the end of the matter. The Rabbi also prophesied that during the 10th Jubilee Jerusalem would be under the control of the Jews and the Messianic "end times" would begin. The 10th Jubilee began in 1967 and will be concluded in 2017.[7]

Let's consider the data;
Jubilees 1-8 (1517 to 1917): Turks will rule.
Jubilee 9 (1917 to 1967): Jerusalem a “no man’s land.”
Jubilee 10 (1967 to 2017): Jerusalem under Jewish control, Messianic end times will begin.
Jubilee 11: Begins at Yom Kippur 9/30/17.

Jubilees 1-8 and 9 were fulfilled as his prophecy stated. His prophecy also states “during the 10th Jubilee Jerusalem would be under the control of the Jews and the Messianic "end times" would begin.” Therefore if the prophecy is to be trusted, then the Messianic “end times” would have to start within the time of the 10th jubilee, before the 11th Jubilee starts at Yom Kippur on 9/30/17. Thus if the Messianic “end times” refers to the beginning of the 70th Week, then the prophecy implies the Second Coming will be no later than 2024. If the Messianic “end times” refers to Jacob’s trouble—the second half of the 70th Week—then the prophecy implies the Second Coming will be no later than 2021.

  1. Sir,

I have just found out at the Bible Discussion forum; that this prophecy of ten weeks might have been based on the Book of Enoch, 91.-94. chapters.

    http://forum.bible-discussion.com/showthread.php?6751-GOD-S-10-Week-Calendar-of-ENOCH..-1

So it may be that it has got nothing to do with the book of Daniel. I have read from a biography of 1100-1200-century alhemicst or scientist (might have been Robert Bacon) that he had found a secret book. Probably the book of Enoch. So that book might have been in common use between scolars of that time?

    Yours,
    omar

    1. Not necessarily - when Jesus said that no man knows tthe hour or day, He may have been specifically referring to a Feast of the Lord that is commonly known as the Feast of Unknown Hour and Day, which is the Feast of Trumpets. The Feast of Trumpets begins after two witnesses identify the first sliver of the new moon after the six month of Elul. Since no one would know the precise day or hour, it was referred to as such - and Jesus was probably making a direct inference to that Feast.

    2. I agree and believe the rapture will most likely align with the feast of trumpets at .5 to 2.5 years after the antichrist arises.

      Delete
    3. When Jesus said no man knows the day or hour, he was speaking of a literal scientific fact. The earth is divided into 24 time zones. At any given point in time, it is a physical impossibility for all points on the globe to be in agreement about the exact day and hour it is. Even just within the United States, there is a 3 hour time difference between California and Virginia.

  4. Jesus said in reference to the rapture that no man knows the hour of his return. I do not know when the rapture will occur. What I have pointed out in this series of posts is that there are a lot of parameters pointing to a 2016 return and thus rapture 2013-2015. And as i have stated many times we will not know for sure until we see the seals opened and the antichrist arise.

  5. That 11th jubilee would begin on Rosh Hashanah, not Yom Kippur. Remember, rosh means head and hashanah means "of the year". Rosh Hashanah is the new year festival; Yom Kippur is the day of atonement and it occurs on the 10th day of the hebrew year.

  7. I found some information on the net about a little boy born on Christmass Eve 1992 in Rome,Italy from a young israeli family.
Might it be that the Lord has decided to come in a "natural" way, instead coming on earth as by an elevator, "on the clouds", from the sky?
The story is written in italian and I don't know about a translation in english.

    P.S.
Making a comparison with Rabbi's Judah Ben Samuel Prophecy, december 1992 would be half a jubilee away (25 years)from the israeli liberation of Jerusalem in 1967.

    Peace and joy.

    1. Jesus is in heaven now. I am convinced that the events of the Sixth Seal are literal and all the world will see Jesus in the sky at that point. At the end of the 70th week he will return physically to the earth at Armageddon.

  8. I agree, Matt. 24:23-28 addresses this subject. Reading this one can easily see that the Lord is concerned about false reportings of His coming. in verse 27 He describes the visibility of His coming. In vs 28 He describes where we will meet Him in the Rapture. Although most scholars are not in agreement with this understanding it is the best understanding given the context of these verses and the subject being discussed.

  9. I posted a thread on Godlike Productions entitled "Biblical end time 2010-2017" in which I made the same mistake that I have seen here: that Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel implies that Messianic end time will end in 2017. But he actually wrote that Messianic end time will "begin" in the tenth jubilee. He never wrote when it would end.

Messianic end time is not the same thing with Messiah's millennial reign. End time refers to end of the present sinful world.

There are some interesting ideas here:

  10. Peace!

It is true that bible has not fullfilled yet. However Protestant church teaches that everything has alreadly fullfilled at the cross when Jesus was crucified.

I got a vision about Revelation Lamb who opens the seals. He is the only worthy anywhere. There is no other worthy. I guess there is a theology concerning the Lamb. I do not know this theology but I guess Lamb can open the seals without waiting the whole bible fullfillment and then comes the end of the world when he starts to open the seals.

Not everyone are teaching that the bible has to be fullfilled. Every verse of it. Some say it already has fullfilled at the cross.

    Peace!

    1. Some protestant churches teach that all was fulfilled at the cross. That is true regarding the payment for our sins but not regarding end times events.

You are correct that all scripture will be fulfilled. I believe that we may see the Seals fulfilled in the near future.

  11. The pope of Rome announced today that he is resigning his papacy effective as of 02-28-13. Bringing Father Malachy Martin's 12th century prophecies about 'the next pope being the last' together with this discussion, I'd say we should have our affairs in order and keep our eyes heavenward as so many of these prophecies are converging on this moment in history.

I also take comfort in that, if the fig tree Jesus spoke of regarding end times prophecy was in fact Israel becoming a nation again, that likely started the prophetic clock (most agree with this thought). In describing what would be going on in these end times, Jesus stated; "I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened." With this scripture in mind, if 1948 started 'the generation that would not pass away until all...' those things happened, and a generation is 70 years, that means that it will likely be somewhere between today and 5 years from now before Jesus returns for His bride during the rapture of the church.

I believe, as the song says: "Soon and very soon, we are going to see the King."

  12. I would like to make some aproximate calculation about the second and last birth of Jesus, called his second coming.

The 10-th jubilee of rabbi Ben Samuel (50 years) is the year 2017. I have some informations about a jewish boy born on Christmass Eve 1992, in Rome. Calculate 1992-1967= 25 years, half a jubilee.

Then we have the son of a muslim, Obama, going to Jerusalem this month. Probably he will bring a "peace" treaty to last 7 years( Daniel prophecy), but after 3,5 the muslims might break that treaty with Israel and attack Jerusalem. 2013+3,5= 2016 or 2017, depending on the month the treaty is going to be signed.

    4. If the prophecy of the popes is true, the next and last pope will be Peter the Roman, a good Shepherd.

Is it possible that Petrus Romanus and this jewish boy born on Christmass Eve 1992 might be the same person, uniting the two religions into one tree, as Jesus wished thousand of years ago?

    P.S.
It's a theory I develope in this calculations that accepts the possibility of Jesus beeing born again, under another civil name, called The Righteous, in stead of his coming in glory as the Bible shows us. This glory might be shown in the end of his second coming, as it happened on the cross 2000 years ago.

  16. I am confused about what the rabbi prophesied -- specifically the Messianic period starting within the tenth jubilee -- does that mean the tribulation period is about to begin?
I am not sure what is lore from what I have found online, but a few questions:
42 months of prosperity then a broken treaty then 42 months of unimaginable horrors?
How do we know Jesus Christ returns to get us before the tribulation period?
If the Antichrist is Roman, and the false prophet Jewish couldn't they be almost anyone?
Please explain the covenant with Abraham because I am not sure what that is exactly and whether it effects anyone Jewish who believes Jesus is the Messiah. Do Jews need to receive Jesus by believing in their heart that God raised him from the dead and stating He is Lord? I know we all have to repent of our sins I am just worried that if the Jews say there is a future messianic period and logically exclude and reject Jesus then how can they get into heaven? Does the covenant with Abraham protect them somehow?

    1. The messianic period is when Jesus rules on earth for 1000 years after the 70th week of Daniel which many refer to the last 7 years.

The last 7 years may have already begun. It does not say that the first 42 months will be peaceful, just that the antichrist will rule the world for the last 42 months.

Jesus will not get us before the last 7 years starts, we will be raptured after the 6th seal is opened.

Yes Jews need to recognize Jesus as the messiah and God to be saved. Jesus said "I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but by me."

I would encourage you to read The Coming Epiphany, I think it will answer a lot of your questions.

  17. The Jewish years are shorter, does the calendar changes made by the popes mess anything up in our estimates?
Rosh Hashana or Yom Kippur to mark the eleventh jubilee start?
Whoa, do you mean to say the tribulation period could have already started even though we are still in the tenth jubilee with about three years to go?
Are all of the saved raptured away then come back to fight at Armageddon and then the Millenium starts?
What is the messianic time the rabbi is referring to?
    How will we know it?
Where are the verses so we can read for ourselves?

  23. For those of you looking for the "Pretrib rapture", be careful. It is not a clear teaching of Jesus or the New Testament. From what I have researched, this is a fairly new doctrine, dating from the mid 1800s and a Pentacostal vision of a woman from that time. It spread quickly to more mainstream denominations. It has always seemed to me to be too convenient an escape and not a true picture of deliverance. It has also served as an excuse for Christian worldliness, and "The what do I care; I won't be here for it" attitude. Jesus never taught us that we would be whisked away but that he would be with us always until the end of the world. We would have an arc of protection and the closeness of God. I see Daniel in the Lion's den and Christians suffering throughout history-- and not delivered. It is true that the days will be shortened and we will be caught up to Him before all of us are destroyed (Dead go first of course), but we should be prepared for the worst. The pretrib rapture was not around before 1860 or so. The fact that it is based on one person's vision makes it questionable. If I were the evil one, I could not think of a better way to keep Christians unprepared and careless. We've been warned about "strong delusions". Do not base your understanding of God on denominational teachings. Rather, search the scriptures for yourself, weigh the spirits, test everything, and cling to Jesus alone not a doctrine. As for myself, I see the rapture at some point after the midpoint and probably closer to the end. "I have had a vision about running with a bag, asking everyone even in a strange church about the truth because i was fearful of being misled by the deceiving spirits. Suddenly, there was a huge bolt of lightning and an explosion of thunder, and in the sky the words were emblazoned from one horizon to the other: " As lightning comes from the east and goes into the west, so will be the coming of the Son of God in His day...." At that point, I was sure and ran to catch up with a group of people waiting for him in the light (ten wise virgins?]). "WAiIT for me! I'm coming!" Joining them, I felt the warmth of His presence. Looked up and was up....I'm no prophet. Just telling what I saw. Many people will have dreams and visions.
But, you must be sure for yourself. As Jesus said: if anyone is willing to do my will, they will know of the teaching whether it is of God or of man." If a prophet says something is from God and that event does not come to pass, do not follow that person! "A good tree does not bare bad fruit.." "By their fruits you will know them" He also warned that we would all be subject to strong deceptions, so that if possible, even the very elect would be deceived." Be extremely wary of mainstream media. Get your news and info from as many different sources as possible! " "Pray this way: Our Father who is in heaven/ Holy is Your name/ your Kingdom come/ Your will be done/ Here on earth as it is in heaven/ Give us today our food and needs/ And forgive us our failings as we forgive others who fail/ Do not allow us to be led into temptation/ But deliver us from evil/ For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen Cling to Jesus. Lay everything you think you know before Him-- His blood and the power of His Name. ..."You will know of the teaching whether it is of God or of men..."

  25. We are in the midst of the Egyptian Plague of Darkness, this is the Revelation... that Exodus is about us, designed to help us out of this descent into Hell. Religion has long held secrets of hidden technology, and it is the disclosure of the existence of time travel and mind control technology that is the purpose of the Second Coming and the story of Exodus. From the Burning Bush beginning to show us that 9/11 was predicted throughout the Bible.. as the great and terrible day of the Lord in which "many nations will mourn," God is proving the existence of time travel.

On January 20, 2001, George W. Bush fulfilled an ancient prophesy, by reciting during his inauguration Ecclesiastes 9:11 and Revelation 20:1, together. These two verses answer a riddle posed in Revelation 1:20--one which Heralds the Second Coming of Jesus Christ by showing us that these chapters and verses match the dates of the inauguration and attack perfectly. Revelation 20:1 describes the darkness that comes in it's wake, as He saw an angel coming on the clouds holding a great chain in his hand.

The end goal of this disclosure is to show us that language itself holds a hidden message from God, one which proves beyond doubt that English and our modern culture is the focus religion itself. There are hundreds of examples of holy scripture being used to highlight this message, and show us how to find it. This book provides numerous examples, and gives us a path to find God's message and the true purpose of Creation itself.

Just like in Exodus, there is a Plague hiding the light of the Son, and it is your inaction and disbelief that is being used as a weapon against the truth, against you, and against me. This message will free us from darkness, and I need you to help yourself and our civilization by reading and sharing it.

Try, really try. This is enlightenment being handed to you on a silver platter, yet I feel like I am screaming at a wall in the dark.

  26. When do Messianic End Times begin? I suppose they begin with the Seven Year Covenant (Mideast Peace Treaty) of Daniel 9:27 which will likely occur in 2017 and run through 2024. Daniels 70th Week of Daniel 9:24 and 8:12-14 will begin at the mid-point of the Seven Year Covenant and extend through the 3.5-year (1290-days) remainder plus the 3.5-yrs (1260-days) of Great Tribulation (Rev 11:2-3, 12:6&14, 13:5)which brings us to 2027 or 2028 for Jesus' return for the Battle of Armageddon. I am convinced the rapture will occur in accord with Daniel 12:1, 11&12 which fits with Matthew 24:15-31 as well as with Revelation 7 & 14. Moreover, it fits with the following quote by Mary Stewert Relfe, PhD, from her book, When Your Money Fails, 1982: "The Wrath of God is a distinct time period. It is also referred to as the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord.
A concordant search will reveal that we are born unto "tribulation," but not unto ""wrath." During our life God chastens, permits afflictions, persecutions, and tribulations to, try, purge, and make us "white," even as silver is refined in the furnace, but, we are instructed to "wait for His Son from Heaven . . . even Jesus, which hath delivered us from the wrath to come."
I Thessalonians 1:10. The term "delivered" in Greek is rhuomai, meaning "to rescue." His coming is therefore "to rescue:" us from the wrath to come; NIV uses this rendering: "God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation . . . Wherefore comfort yourselves together." I Thessalonians 5:9&11. Why? For we have received salvation from the "Wrath of God!" In the book of Revelation, the term “tribulation” or “great tribulation” does not appear in the opening of the scroll with seven seals, which is the outline for end of age events, until Revelation 7:14, when the saints are in heaven, [i.e. immediately after the Rapture]. The term does not appear again in scripture; but the Wrath of God takes over, appearing thirteen (13) times from Revelation 6:16 to Revelation 19:15, during which time "they repented not” is repeated three times."
