The Rapture Code

Do you believe in the Bible codes? Some do and some do not. Personally I believe that God has encoded the Old Testament and legitimate Bible Codes do exist. There are also many Bible codes that are not legitimate, mainly because they do not have great enough odds to be considered beyond chance and thus may just be random. For a further discussion of that topic see The Bible Codes.

How about a translation? Could God have encoded a translation? My first thought was that a translation could not be encoded because translations are not inspired. But on the other hand who am I to limit God and say that He could not do that--He can do greater things than we can think or imagine. And it stands to reason that if you had a group of earnest, righteous, Holy Spirit controlled translators, that even though translations are not inspired, God could conceivably guide and direct the translators by His grace to translate according to His will and thus a translation and even it's revisions could also be encoded.

So a few years ago I decided to search the KJV to see if I could find any "codes." I found a very interesting code that concerns the rapture and clearly shows its timing. The code is depicted above and if you click on it you can see it in full size.

The matrix puts forth the idea that the Day of Christ or the Day of the Lord will occur at the sixth seal. It also puts forth the idea that the rapture will also occur at this time in which the righteous will be taken and delivered from the wrath to come and the wicked, men without Christ, will be left to suffer the wrath of God. This sentiment is echoed in the phrase “be saved, O safe!” which again sets forth the idea that if you are saved you will be safe from the wrath to come. The matrix further contains information regarding one of the most prominent signs of the Day of the Lord, namely that the moon will be turned to blood.

As stated above the odds of a matrix have to be high enough to be considered beyond chance and thus legitimate. The r-value of statistically significant terms in this matrix without inclusion of surface text is 8.079, which yields odds of approximately 120 million to one. However there are other statistically significant occurrences in this matrix;

1. The entire matrix only includes 3431 letters, which is approximately ½% of the 739,167 letters in the KJV New Testament. In the matrix the term “sixseal,” which is only encoded 4 times in the KJV New Testament, appears with 6 sentences or long phrases of definitely related surface text such as “Hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” “We which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,” “The coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,” “Day of Christ” “Glorious appearing of the great God.” “The Lord delivered me.”

2. The words “saints” and “taken” are only encoded once in this matrix and they cross each other and the surface text of “We which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds.”

3. The encoded word “left,” occurs right below the surface text “wicked men.” The phrase “wicked men” only occurs 2 times in the KJV NT and appears in this small matrix very close to “left.”

4. The terms “saints” “taken” “wicked” and “men” all occur near each other. The other significant cluster of terms are “of blood” “moon” and “sign” where the phrase “of blood” also crosses the encoded term “moon,” which is almost parallel to the term “sign.” All 3 occur in a 7 x 28 box.

All of these statistically significant events increase the odds of this matrix from occurring by chance. If we conservatively estimate the odds of each of those 4 occurrences as 10 to 1 that would increase the odds of this matrix to an r-value of about 12 yielding odds of about one trillion to one.

Are the odds high enough for us to say that this matrix was by design and not chance? Does this matrix show that the KJV is encoded? I will leave those questions to be answered by the statistical experts. But if the answers to these questions are yes, then this matrix would offer confirmation to the fact that the rapture will occur after the sixth seal is opened.

Our only source for doctrine is God’s Holy Word; we are never to use experiences and or other spiritual phenomena such as the Bible codes to formulate doctrine. God’s Holy Word is clear that the rapture will occur after the sixth seal is opened and this Bible code whether by design or chance says the same thing.

  1. Stamping Out Harold Camping

I don't care a fig for date-setters, especially those who predict when Christ will return. The current champion is 89-year-old, headline-grabbing Harold Camping of Family Radio fame.
Is Second Coming date-setter Harold Camping worthy of death? He already has a zero batting average after his September 1994 prediction fizzle and, according to the Bible, is a false prophet.
Nevertheless that California shaman, who should be ashamed, claims he's found out that Christ's return will be on May 21, 2011 even though Matt. 24:36 says that no one knows the "day" or "hour" of it!
A Google article ("Obama Fulfilling the Bible") points out that "Deut. 18:20-22 in the Old Testament requires the death penalty for false prophets."
The same article reveals that "Christians are commanded to ask God to send severe judgment on persons who commit and support the worst forms of evil (see I Cor. 5 and note 'taken away')."
Theologically radioactive Harold Camping and his ga-ga groupies (with their billboards featuring "May 21, 2011") should worry about being "stamped out" if many persons decide to follow the I Cor. 5 command.
The above article concludes: "False prophets in the OT were stoned to death. Today they are just stoned!"
PS - For many years Camping was not known as a pretrib rapture teacher. But now, for $ome my$teriou$ rea$on, he seeks support from those who believe in and teach an imminent, pretrib rapture which supposedly will occur SEVERAL YEARS BEFORE the traditional SECOND COMING to earth! For a behind-the-scenes, documented look at the 181-year-old pretrib rapture belief (which was never a part of any official theology or organized church before 1830!), Google "Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty," "Pretrib Rapture Diehards" and "Pretrib Rapture - Hidden Facts."

  2. Personally, I believe this is an area we should not visit. It's too close to divination and too ripe for deception. I recall some skeptics found phrases in the book Moby Dick by applying codes. If you truly want to eliminate chance, try applying code to several novels and see what you find. Thanks for providing potent food for thought with your blog.

I believe Harold Camping is wrong in his prediction. However I do not think that he is worthy of death. That is Old Testament law and if we were to apply all the law we would all probably be worthy of death. Ever pick up sticks on the Lord's day? Those who did so are also suppose to be stoned. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I am glad we are no longer under the law but of course that does not excuse us from breaking the principles of God's law which are for all time. Christians who sin will be disciplined by God.

In regards to date setting; When we know for sure that the last 7 years has started then we can set a date for the second coming of Christ but never the rapture--which no one knows the day or hour. For example if the last 7 years started in 2009 then the second coming would be in 2016, if in 2010 then 2017, etc. So once we see or know for sure that the last 7 years has begun then we can know the time of the second coming because it will be 2520 days later. We could also know that the rapture would have to be sometime between the beginning of the rule of the antichrist and the second coming.

In my writings I am not predicting when Christ will return. I do not know when it will be, but I have theorized that there is a lot of evidence pointing to 2016 as the year of the second coming with the antichrist arising in 2013. If that were the case then the rapture would have to be between 2013 and 2015. When will we know for sure? When we either know for sure that a seal has occured or see the antichrist arise.

Divination is using satanic power to predict the future. Bible codes are not divination. Unfortunately most people cannot even understand what a Bible code is and can jump to hasty conclusions. For sure many Bible codes are junk because they can be just from chance as would exist in any text like Moby Dick. But what separates a code from being chance or being from God? The odds. If you have odds that are beyond chance in the universe then you know that code cannot be by chance.
