William, I was conversing with a Baptist preacher about the timing of the rapture at the opening of the 6th seal. He said, "Did John go up at the opening of the 6th seal?" "How did the 24 elders get there in Revelation 5? "

Finally, another very weak argument put forth by pre-trib adherents is that they say that the raptured saints are clearly seen in Revelation 4 and 5: “And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands” (Rev. 5:11). The scene depicted in Revelation 4 and 5 occurs before the seals are opened. Therefore, they conclude, the rapture occurs before the 70th Week.
They also claim that Revelation 4:1 is the trumpet that sounds at the rapture and John who went up to heaven at the time is symbolic of the rapture: “After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.” Scripture does not support these assertions. First, scripture tells us that the voice only sounds like a trumpet, not that a trumpet is sounding. If it were a trumpet sounding, scripture would have said that. Secondly, nowhere does it mention any saints in this scene besides the 24 elders. All listed as being present in this scene are angels, beasts, and the 24 elders. That is it. One cannot assume that the 100 trillion are made up of raptured saints. God tells us who is present, and to conclude otherwise is an assumption that is not supported by the text. Therefore, scripture in no way supports the notion that raptured saints are present in Revelation 4 and 5.
The raptured saints do, however, appear in scripture in Revelation 7:
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands . . . And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. (Rev. 7:9–15) [italics mine]
These are the raptured saints, not the elders, beasts, and angels of Revelation 4 and 5.

For a Pastor to change his view on the rapture timing would require admitting to his whole congregation that he was wrong on a major doctrinal issue. He would also probably fear losing church members and or being kicked out of his church.
DeleteSo, most likely regardless of what you say, he probably will not listen. Probably best to just pray for him and or give him a pre wrath book to read.
Pre wrath/6th Seal believing churches are far and few between. So, if you have found a good bible believing church just go and disregard all the pretrib stuff. And if you go around to others and try to convince them of the 6th seal rapture you will probably be asked to leave.
After the antichrist arises, if they recognize him, then they will know they are wrong and will most likely have their epiphany and hopefully believe in a pre wrath rapture then. But they will be totally unprepared for the great tribulation.
And in regards to the ac, most will think he is a "savior hero" including Israel--they will think he is the messiah.

ReplyDeleteWith the serious watch in extent here for the solar eclipse on October 2nd, and with all that we think that may portend, I'm left to wonder if the very bad and bizarre and instigatory Israeli cyber attack on the Hezbollah pagers, and the thousands of deaths and injuries that it caused, is simply coincidental to it falling on the day of the *last full moon* before October 2nd, or not (which will be the date of the *new* moon? It does not feel coincidental to me.
ReplyDeleteNor does the fact that one of the primary places where one can see the "Ring of Fire" solar eclipse is on Easter Island, a small place off in the otherwise uninhabited Pacific Ocean. I mean, what a strange "name" for a fairly remote island in the non-Christian Pacific. I'm sure there were reasons for calling it that, but again, why "Easter" Island?
After all, Easter is the day Jesus *returned*... from the dead in that case... and made his presence known directly on the Earth again.
No, I'm not saying such a thing will replicate on this Easter (Island) in early October, that it will mark the day of Jesus' return to the living Earth again (for the Rapture), but I can't help but feel that simply the naming of said island, as "Easter Island", and now this very important solar eclipse passing over it during this rather completely tumultuous time, doesn't mean something very significant, doesn't mean that it was somehow named "Easter" Island for some very Biblical and prophetic reason.
I mean, in today's day and time, there seems to be almost no "coincidences" anymore. There are only portents and signs, warnings and deliberate aggressions meant for specific purposes, rather than things just happening on this day or that. :-(

They have forecasted this since early this year happening March thru
September. If that star goes nova on Seotember 27-28th...that is another

Of course we have the 7th anniversary of the Revelation 12 sign that
happened on 9/23/2017. That fulfilled Revelation 12:1-2. Now the next
Great sign is versus 3-4 regarding the red dragon. It is displayed
in the heavens also. The United Nations is rumored to be trying
to divide Israel on 9/22-23... That can not happen without the
United States casting its veto vote. But, if the United States votes in favor
if a two state solution...and it's unanimous.....or...if the United States
abstain from voting...not stopping the 2 state solution...that's when
God's fury will be thrown at the United States.
We also have a rare situation happening right now that the earth is capturing an asteroid and it will be a second moon of earth's for like 58 days or so.
This is going to be an interesting 2-3 weeks...then who knows...Time will tell.
