Where's the Third Temple?
Several times I have been asked by various people the following question; if we are on the verge of seeing the antichrist arise, then where’s the temple? Their thinking goes like this; if the antichrist is supposed to perform the Abomination of Desolation then there has to be a temple for him to do that, so if the time is approaching for him to come onto the scene, where is the temple? I am glad that people are thinking this through, for that is a great question, that I have asked myself.
My answer; I see 2 possibilities.
1. They can very quickly erect a tabernacle (temporary temple) like they did in the Old Testament days when they were traveling in the wilderness.
2. The antichrist will “miraculously” make a temple appear.
Those are the two possibilities that I see at this time. In regards to the antichrist making a temple “miraculously” appear a blog reader sent me an interesting idea (H.T. Sherry) What if the antichrist, that many are convinced, including myself, will have UFO connections, brought down the temple out of the sky. Now wouldn’t that be interesting. Do you think an action like that would help people believe in him and precipitate the great falling away?
Think that is too far fetched? There have been many reports of people seeing large UFOs, some even miles wide. Here is something else to think about; if the evil forces have anti gravity technology, which there have been rumors that they do, then they could build the Temple off site, and fly it anywhere that they want to. Hmm…think about it.
I am not saying that is how it will happen, just helping you realize that a temple could "appear" very quickly. Thus in my opinion the lack of a temple at this point does not prevent the arising of the antichrist.
Why is this so difficult for everyone to understand; the temple is the human body. Jesus referred to the body being the temple. Lets examine this scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2:4
ReplyDelete4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
This is when Satan will enter the human body and this individual will become the antichrist. It is our Heavenly Creator that made the body and Satan will defile God's creation and exalt himself. It is that simple. There will be no building that the antichrist will exalt himself over, for a building is created by man and cannot he defiled. The Lord God does not reside in a building, but only in those who have asked Jesus to forgive your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. We have no righteousness of our own, it is the blood of Christ that covers us. Before we had our sins forgiven, we were controlled by our father Satan according to John 8:31-47, " 31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
33 They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”
34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. 37 I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word. 38 I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father. [b] ”
39 “Abraham is our father,” they answered.
“If you were Abraham’s children,” said Jesus, “then you would [c] do what Abraham did. 40 As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. 41 You are doing the works of your own father.”
“We are not illegitimate children,” they protested. “The only Father we have is God himself.”
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. 43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? 47 Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”
PRAISE GOD when we are washed and cleansed in the blood are no longer controlled by the enemy within, we are no longer hybrids. Jesus made the two whole by His blood. We are no longer controlled by the devilml. That's what Christ did on the cross, he reached out to the good man on his left and he reached out to the evil man on his right. His death conquered all.
When the antichrist receives his power from the devil, many will be deceived and led astray. It is only the Lord who allows the devil to do this. We live in perilous times. Keep reading the Word of God and be watchful!
Short answer: When the Lord, in Matthew 24, and Paul in his Thessalonian letter refer to this event, they are specifically alluding to a reference from Daniel's end time prophecy ('as it is written in Daniel the prophet'). Daniel is referring to a physical building, of the literal physical nation of Israel, not a spiritual temple. It really is that simple.
DeleteSomething needs to be clarified here. Paul referred at least 3 times in 1 Corinthians to our bodies being the temple of God, by the Spirit of God dwelling in us.
Delete(1Co 6:19) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
What he has not said is that ALL HUMAN BODIES are the temple of God. Only those who are saved and indwelt by the Holy Spirit as adopted children of God are said to have such bodies.
Therefore, it really seems absurd with no biblical support to draw the conclusion that Satan will inhabit a body and in this way is inhabiting God's temple, unless you would advance the equally un biblical view that such a body belongs to a Spirit born and saved Christian and is then inhabited by Satan. At the very least, such a view would call into question the Fathers ability to keep those who are His own. As it is, I don't even know of a verse which clearly says Satan will even inhabit the body of the beast. That the beast gets his power and authority from the dragon isn't proof of 'possession' and even if such an event were to occur, it certainly isn't the inhabiting of a body indwelt by the Holy Spirit of God..
All people are made in God's image and the devil has deceived people into desecrating that image. For sure the Christian's body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. And many Christians desecrate that temple by their actions and what they put into it, like bad music, TV, movies, etc. There will also be a physical temple that satan will desecrate when he will perform the Abomination of Desolation. Then the persecution will begin.
DeleteThat the end time events will occur, I have no doubt. I'm also convinced by world events we are on a non stop collision with those events. How they will all transpire I don't know. I do believe the evil powers behind this globalist push feel they are so close to their distopian vision that they won't back off now, so expect an acceleration of events.
ReplyDeleteA couple of thoughts regarding the temple. I'm pretty sure the Temple Mount Institute have been readying temple items for quite some time so that at the right moment they will be able to have a temple in operation. I haven't checked on them in a while. Secondly, it is quite possible the area where the Dome of the Rock sits is not the temple site at all but rather the site of the fortress of Antonio. If this is the case, it would remove a large obstacle to the building of the Jewish temple.
THX for your input, it will be interesting to see how this all works out.

ReplyDeleteI'm not convinced that 'wailing wall' is a wall of the temple Herod renovated. The Lord said not a stone will be left upon a stone, but all will be thrown down. If that is part of the old temple, then clearly something is wrong with this picture. There is a documentary I would love to watch (from WND) which advances the view that the temple was actually on a nearby mount which had it's top ploughed off by the Romans.
ReplyDeleteIt is very interesting though, that preparations are being made for the temple. If it were to appear or quickly be erected it would go into immediate use.
If I may divert briefly to make one more comment on the view that Satan will embody or physically possess the beast, anti christ and this is how he stands in the temple.
(Rev 19:20) And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
and after that event we have this:
(Rev 20:1) And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
(Rev 20:2) And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Please note the immediate destiny of Satin is not the same as that for the beast and false prophet. They go directly, alive, into the lake of fire. He is bound for 1000 years in the bottomless pit.
So, if the view is correct that he stands or sits in the temple by embodying the beasts body, why does Satan not go to the lake of fire? I have a strong sense that we won't have very long to wait to see how all the details play out and that this is not just an 'academic' exercise.
I believe it is possible that the prophecy concerning the stones being thrown down were only partially fulfilled and will be fully fulfilled in the future. It is also possible that the prophecy referred to the Temple itself and not the wall around it.
DeleteThe Wailing Wall/Western Wall is not part of the Temple itself. It's a retaining wall that supported the additional fill that enlarged the Temple Mount.
