The Day of the Lord -- The Preceding Event

As already discussed in the last post we know that the rapture is the first event of the Day of the Lord period. But what is the event that directly preceeds the Day of the Lord and the rapture?

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come Acts 2:20

It is clear; according to scripture the event directly preceeding the Day of the Lord and the rapture is the sun being darkened and the moon turning to blood.

When does that happen? After the opening of the Sixth Seal.

And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; Rev 6:12

So we have the opening of the Sixth seal then the sun is darkened and the moon is turned to blood and then the Day of the Lord and the rapture.

Why don't most Christians believe it?

  1. Most likely because it doesn't fit THEIR timeline. Whether it's a personal belief or their church's...it doesn't fit their timeline.

What turned me onto reading your blog was that you Scripturally back up your timeline. I don't know you from a man on the moon, but everything you say regarding the Sixth seal makes sense. I would love to see an educated rebuttal to your thoughts, but I haven't yet.

You lost me on the rock-n-roll posts, but that's to be expected with me. I never cared much for it. Just a reminder.... I'd sure like to see your timeline again. It was always nice being able to look at it. I remember your UFO's comment. Do you remember late last year all the UFO stuff that was popping up? NYC...Some airport in China... There were several others as well that I'm forgetting. You can't call all the shots, but an educated guideline is nice to have.

  2. Hello Patrick

You are correct it does not fit their timeline and for some I think that they are too proud to admit that they have been wrong, for others they know that believing another rapture theory could possibly lead to a small degree of persecution and ridicule from other believers. Some do not want to believe anything else because it would not be "positive" to think that way. Some have been so "brainwashed" by their churches that they are afraid to think for themselves. For some the lightbulb has not turned on yet--they can't comprehend it.

I believed and taught the pre trib theory for many years and was faced with some of those feelings. But it basically came down to deciding was I going to believe God's word and put it above all else. You know when it comes down to it--it doesn't matter what I or anyone else thinks but what does God's word say!

The prophecy forecast is back up--slightly different format--sorry it took so long--I have been very busy.
